France booked their place in the 2022 World Cup final after defeating Morocco on Wednesday evening.
Les Bleus were looking to make the final of football’s most prestigious tournament for the second edition running.
Standing in their way was Morocco, who defeated Belgium, Spain and Portugal in their record-breaking run.
France raced out of the blocks and took the lead in the fourth minute through Theo Hernandez.
Morocco battled but, despite creating multiple chances, could not find a way past Hugo Lloris.
And Didier Deschamps’ side secured the victory with 11 minutes remaining when Randal Kolo Muani doubled their advantage and sent them to the final.
The match saw two good friends, PSG teammates Mbappe and Hakimi, go up against each other.
Hakimi was understandably disappointed after the match as his side missed out on a place in the final.
Mbappe spotted his good friend lying on his back looking up at the sky following the game.
So he did what any good friend would do and tried to console him.

A few moments later, the two players swapped shirts and then put them on.

They then sat next to each other in the tunnel following the match.

Mbappe sends beautiful tweet to Hakimi
Mbappe then sent a lovely tweet to his teammate as he congratulated him and his country on becoming the first ever African side to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
The Frenchman wrote: “Don’t be sad bro, everybody is proud of what you did, you made history.”
Who will France play in the World Cup final?
Mbappe has been brilliant in Qatar and are now just one game away from winning the tournament once again.
They will face Lionel Messi and Argentina in the final. the South American outfit dismantled Croatia on Tuesday evening.
France could well be able to call upon the world’s best striker, Karim Benzema, for the match.
The Real Madrid striker has missed the whole tournament through injury but could well make a dramatic return in the final.
