Marseille and Inter Milan have reached an agreement in principle to sign Joaquín Correa (29), according to a report this Wednesday from RMC Sport.
The outlet understands that signing Inter’s Argentine striker is seen as a priority for Les Phocéens to bolster their left-sided attacking flank. Correa’s arrival could be concluded in a matter of days considering all the involved parties have given a green light for the move to materialise.
Marseille and the 29-year-old striker have reached an agreement on personal terms whilst Inter and the Ligue 1 side shook hands over a loan with a mandatory purchase option in the event Marcelino’s side qualify for the 2024-25 expanded Champions League.
Reports emerged yesterday that Lille OSC were also in the running to sign the former Lazio versatile forward, whose second season with Inter won’t live long in the memory. He has registered only four goals and three assists in 41 games with Simone Inzaghi’s side. The Italian manager now relies mostly on Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martínez to assume the goalscoring burden. Meanwhile, free agent Alexis Sanchez is expected to rejoin the Nerazzuri after impressing last season with Les Phocéens. Marseille will host Stade Brestois this Saturday for Ligue 1’s third gameweek.
