In a surprising late twist, Marcus Thuram (25) has decided to join Inter Milan, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna. The France international had looked set to join city rivals AC Milan.
Thuram had reached the end of his contract with Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach and was therefore available as a free agent. The Frenchman had been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain. However, despite reported talks with Les Parisiens, he informed the club on Thursday that he wouldn’t be joining, according to L’Équipe. Thuram was reportedly unconvinced by the sporting project given the uncertainties surrounding the managerial situation at the club. Luis Enrique looks set to replace Christophe Galtier in the dugout at the Parc des Princes, but the player was unwilling to endanger his development, especially with Euro 2024 just one year away.
After rejecting PSG, a decision on his future looked imminent, with the Italian media strongly linking him with a move to AC Milan. However, Aouna has now revealed that he will instead join city rivals Inter. Fabrizio Romano has added that there is an agreement in place over a long-term deal at the club.
