Manchester United will battle Barcelona for the services of Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this summer.
The Portuguese has strongly been linked with a move to Barca with reports saying that that would be his dream move but according to Portuguese outlet O Jogo (via Sport Witness) report that United have already bid on Neves and that their offer is much higher than that of Barça.
United have expressed interest in the player before but he was priced away by Wolves but with the player left with only two years on his current deal, his club is willing to listen to offers as they want to cash on him to fund their summer targets.
Erik ten Hag is a fan of Ruben Neves, but there hasn’t been a bid. Neves has plenty of interest, including Barcelona. #MUFC want to conclude a deal for de Jong next week if they can. Player given green light, clubs still negotiating. pic.twitter.com/2hdx0926Tt

The reports claim that Wolves has already identified 26-year-old João Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon as the player’s replacement should he move this summer.
United are very keen on getting Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong this summer but the Laliga giants are expected to ask for some substantial fee for the Dutchman who is still keen to prove himself at Camp Nou.
