Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton praised manager Erik ten Hag after their 2-0 Carabao Cup semifinal win against Nottingham Forest.
United reach the final 5-0 on aggregate with Heaton happy to keep a clean sheet.
He said, “This season has taken it onto another level and we’re transitioning to where we want to be. There’s a good atmosphere at the minute and good momentum. We want it to be a fortress here like it has been. Nobody is getting carried away but there’s a good feeling.
“[Erik ten Hag] has set the boundaries on what is acceptable and what isn’t and has been very clear. As players you respond to that. The football ideas he’s got across has been good so far. It’s important we keep it up.
“I’m always keen to learn and get opportunities. You try to make the most of it. Two clean sheets and I’ll be raring to go next time.
“To get the opportunity to come back is great but don’t get me wrong, I didn’t come back just to be a part of the furniture. I still have the hunger and the drive to wear the shirt and as soon as I lose that, that will be it for me. I still feel great and I’ve been patiently waiting for the opportunity.
“[Ten Hag] has been very clear it’s performance-based and he’s been true to his word. We have plenty of people who can take over in the squad if you’re not doing that.”
