Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia admits he was left frustrated by his World Cup campaign.
The Holland international never made the pitch during the tournament.
He told Viaplay: “It’s hard when you don’t get any minutes. You keep hoping and you do your best to help the team.
“Of course it was difficult. I always want to play. You have to show it in training, and I feel that I did too.
“You have to pick yourself up sometimes, because you never know. It may be that you suddenly come into play.
“But when you’ve been away for so many weeks, without playing a single minute. As a football player you want to play football.”
Malacia featured for United in last night’s victory over Nottingham Forest.
