One Manchester United director is upset they haven’t made a move for former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards.
The Mirror says the unnamed chief has been left bemused by the club’s decision to not try and recruit Liverpool’s former director, who was hailed as ‘instrumental’ in masterminding some of Jurgen Klopp’s greatest signings.
United are said to be plotting an entire restructure of their hierarchy as they look to bring the club back to its former glories after suffering their worst Premier League season in history.
After 11 years in total on Merseyside, Edwards decided to leave the club and has been the subject of interest from some of Europe’s top sides.
Real Madrid and Paris-Saint Germain have reportedly reached out to the 42-year-old, while Chelsea are also interested following the upcoming departure of Marina Granovskaia.
One issue United would have is that John Murtough is currently occupying the football director role that Edwards would most likely suit.
