The club have still not agreed to offer him a new five-year contract.
There was a suggestion that a deal was all but agreed before the World Cup.
However, the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea are now alerted to Everton’s delaying.

He only has 18 months left to run on his contract, and he may even believe he can do better than the Toffees.
For a second straight season, Everton appear to be engaged in a relegation fight.
