On Sunday, Manchester United fans cheered manager Erik ten Hag as he was seen picking up a green and gold scarf.
The Red Devils coach was interacting with the supporters after his side’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premier League.
These green and gold scarves have long symbolised the United fanbase’s animosity towards its Americans owners – the Glazer family.
The club is presently in takeover talks, with Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe of INEOS the bidders.
United fans are hoping the process will result in a full sale of the team by the Glazers.
Ten Hag may have picked up the green and gold scarf to cheers at Old Trafford, but he has never publicly spoken out against the owners.
