Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick feels Jadon Sancho has improved under him.
Rangnick has been pleased by Sancho’s upturn in form, and has revealed that he has spoken to the England international personally on a number of occasions recently as he continues to adjust to the Premier League.
“He did [improve], but this was necessary. We had quite a few conversations just between Jadon and myself,” he told United’s official website.
The German coach has admired Sancho’s skillset for some time, and admitted that he tried to sign him at RB Leipzig when he was a teenager.
The young forward is now starting to deliver on his undoubted potential, and Rangnick has called for him to maintain his high level moving forward.
“I’ve known Jadon for four or five years now. When he was 17, I was trying to lure him to Leipzig and yeah, this is the kind of performance that we need, that he should play regularly on a permanent basis.
“Also for him, he can still get better and improve his performances but, so far, in the last weeks, there was a development in a positive way. He’s in good shape right now and it’s about making sure he can play on this kind of level continuously.”
