Manchester United and Bayern Munich are interested in Inter Milan fullback Denzel Dumfries.
Calciomercato.com says though Inter have already lost Ivan Perisic on a free transfer to Tottenham this summer, they are open to selling Dumfries if it means they can retain the services of Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni.
Inter have a history of letting top quality right-backs go in recent years, having allowed Achraf Hakimi to leave for PSG for £59.85m last summer and failing to make Joao Cancelo’s successful loan spell from Valencia permanent in 2018.
With Dumfries under contract at the Italian giants until June 2025, they look likely to at least recoup the fee they spent on the player a year ago.
The prospect of being part of Erik ten Hag’s hugely anticipated Manchester United rebuild is one that few young Dutch players would likely be able to say no to, and United are surely set to offer lucrative enough deals that no player would want to turn them down.
Bundesliga champions Bayern on the other hand have recently confirmed the free transfer signing of Ajax’s Moroccan right-back Noussair Mazraoui, having won the title for the tenth season in a row, so it is less clear where Dumfries may fit in their plans.
