Benfica have rejected an enquiry from Manchester United for Goncalo Ramos.
Record says United have seen an approach for Ramos knocked back by Benfica.
The Reds made the approach via agent Jorge Mendes after monitoring the striker’s development for months. Erik ten Hag is expected to go big for a forward come summer, having signed Wout Weghorst on loan for the remainder of this season.
Ramos is one of several potential targets, but an approach to begin preliminary discussions has been swatted away by Benfica, with the Portuguese giants unwilling to enter talks for any of their players until summer.
Club president Rui Costa is keen to keep his players focused on football, with Benfica top of the league and into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
