Manchester City are planning to sign Bright and Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella.
The left-back position is an area where City has been short in this season after the arrest of Benjamin Mendy who might not return to the club if he is to be left scot-free by the authorities.
The Daily Mail reports that manager Pep Guardiola said last week he wants to add ‘hungry’ players and the 23-year-old fits the bill as he seeks to address the position.

Cucurella joined Brighton last summer from Getafe and has made 34 league appearances, scoring once and providing one assist. His perfect outing saw him scoop the club’s Player of the Season award with no fullback in the Premier League winning possession more than his 241 tallies.
Brighton paid Getafe £15.4m for him but City would need to find double that to land a player who spent six years at Barcelona’s academy and has been capped once by Spain.
The player himself has not always shyed away from dreaming and admitted that he would like to play for a top club one day with playing for Barca’s first team being on top of his list but an offer from City might prove irresistible.
