Will it be Man City, or will Arsenal keep Pep Guardiola’s side at bay? The EPL title race may come down to the 26th of April match-up between the two sides!
We are gearing up for an epic finish to the English Premier League season. Man City has 9 games to play, and Arsenal has only 8 games left. Currently, Arsenal is 6 points clear of Man City at the top of the table after settling for a draw against Liverpool. But the Manchester side has 1 game up their sleeve.
Man City’s next EPL game will be this month against, which has been dreadful this season. We expect Pep’s side to collect the full 3 points and move to just 1 win behind Arsenal. The sportsbooks now have Man City as the slight favorite over Arsenal to win the EPL. You can bet on either side to lift the trophy at GGBET!
Arsenal Can’t Secure the 3 Points Against Liverpool
Going into their clash against Liverpool, Arsenal was sitting 5 points clear of Man City. With such a slight gap, they needed to win against Jurgen Klopp’s team if they wanted to stay comfortably ahead of Man City. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, and they ended up with a draw missing out on two vital points!
Liverpool has struggled this season, with Klopp even declaring that he should have been fired. Arsenal were strong favorites going into the match even though Liverpool had home-field advantage and still has a star-studded lineup including Salah and Nunez.
The game started incredibly for Arsenal. In the 8th minute, Sako made a blistering run down the right-hand side of the field. He played the ball back inside to Odegaard, who then tried to play it back to Sako, but the ball took a deflection off a Liverpool player and ended up in Martinelli’s lap. The Brazilian took two touches, and even though the ball looked to be too far in front of him, he lunged at the ball and guided it past the Liverpool keeper!
Things got even better for the Gunners when Gabriel Jesus scored in the 28th minute. Martinelli made a lovely run down the left-hand touchline. He looked up and saw Jesus in the box. He whipped the ball into the box, and his Brazilian compatriot leaped into the air uncontested and put away an easy header.
However, just before half-time, Liverpool got revenge. In the 42nd minute, a goal-scoring machine Mo Salah got Liverpool into the match when popped up at the back post to slot the ball past Aaron Ramsdale.
Arsenal fans had their hearts in their mouths when Salah lined up to take a penalty. Luckily, the Egyptian pushed the ball wide. In the 87th minute, Liverpool drew level with a lovely header from Firmino. For the last few minutes, Arsenal was hanging on for dear life. Salah hit the ball perfectly, and it looked for all money to be curling into the right-hand corner, but Ramsdale made a heroic save, just getting his fingertips to the ball. In the end, the match finished 2-2.
Man City Are Big Favorites Against Leicester
Man City are sure to beat Leicester in their next EPL match. Leicester has won just 7 games this season and has a -12 goal difference. It will be a minor miracle if Leicester doesn’t lose this football game. If Man City wins, they will be just 3 points behind the Gunners and be napping at their heels.
There Will Be Fireworks on April 26
It is like a movie script! Arsenal and Man City are playing each other on April 26 at Etihad Stadium in Manchester. It will be a massive sold-out crowd, and Arsenal will have to be at their absolute best to compete with Pep’s team, who will be flying.
The EPL title race likely comes down to this match. If Arsenal wins, they go up by 7 points which will be too much for Man City to claw back. If the game ends in a draw, Arsenal will be 4 points clear and will be the favorite to win the EPL race. However, if Man City gets the win, then the two teams will be equal on points, but Man City will be ahead based on goal difference.
If you only watch one EPL game this season, then this is it! Both teams will be giving their all out on their pitch. We can’t wait to see what Halaand is capable of and who from Arsenal will step up. It would be epic to see Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko put the dagger in their former team!
Man City Have an Easier Run Home
The most likely scenario is that Man City beats Arsenal, which puts them in a strong position to win the EPL based on the difficulty of their remaining games. Arsenal has to play Chelsea and Newcastle, while Man City’s only tough game is Chelsea. There is a strong chance that Arsenal will drop some points in a couple of games while we expect Man City to win out. If Arsenal is going to win the league, they, at the very least, need a draw against Man City.
