Ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Brest on Sunday lunchtime, Luis Enrique spoke to the media about the prospect of playing Brest, his attacking options and Lee Kang-in’s impact against Milan.
After leading his Paris Saint-Germain team to a 3-0 victory against Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday, the Spaniard was asked about the difficulty of playing after a Champions League match. The former Barcelona manager told L’Équipe, “We never played at lunchtime… It’s a team that defends well and makes a lot of crosses. It’s complicated, especially after a Champions League match. We have to be careful.”
Luis Enrique was asked about Gonçalo Ramos against Milan and his heading which is perceived to not being used to full effect. The former Spain boss replied: “What you see from him is what we ask of him, we need him to provide support. He moves very well. It’s true that we’re not a team that crosses a lot so maybe we don’t see their best statistics. But he is a top player, who does a spectacular job.”
Luis Enrique also commented on the quality of his attacking options, “I have to say that with Kolo Muani and Ramos, I have two very high-level players. But there is also Asensio, Barcola or Kang-In Lee who can play in this position. I have a lot of options, it’s a wonder.”
Finally, the PSG manager was asked about the impact of Lee Kang-in from the bench in Les Parisiens’ 3-0 victory against France, to which he replied, “The return of a player is always good news. We have a lot of hope for him. We know his level perfectly. In addition to his individual quality, he does not lose balls. He is a player who has very high physical qualities and I believe he can bring us a lot of things. He can play in different positions, and for me, that’s very attractive. We must emphasize this versatility.”
