Foot Mercato are reporting that Luís Campos is set to travel to Doha, Qatar to discuss the future of Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier, with the club’s QSI ownership keen to discuss alternatives.
According to the French media, Campos will travel to Qatar this week to discuss the future of Galtier, who last week was forced to defend himself from accusations of racism after the leaking of an alleged email from former colleague Julien Fournier.
However, prior to the affair, Galtier’s job at PSG, at least in the long-term was in threat, and that still remains the case. As L’Équipe reported earlier this month, Galtier would only be sacked during this current campaign should their lead at the top of Ligue 1 come under threat.
After back-to-back victories against OGC Nice and RC Lens, Les Parisiens look set to secure this year’s Ligue 1 title with second-placed Olympique de Marseille eight points adrift. However, as Foot Mercato report, Galtier still isn’t QSI’s “priority.”
Amongst the topics up for discussion in Doha later this week is Galtier’s future, with the club still dreaming of hiring Zinédine Zidane. However, any deal to bring the former Real Madrid manager to the Parc des Princes looks complicated. Thiago Motta is also appreciated amongst some of those in the upper echelons of the club, whilst José Mourinho is keen on the idea of taking over at PSG.
Campos’ personal situation at the club, as well as the contours of the upcoming transfer window, will also be discussed, with the Portuguese Sporting Consultant keen to trim the squad, whilst also recruiting further reinforcements.
