Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson says he appreciates the attitude of England teammate Jude Bellingham.
Speaking in the England Diary Room, Henderson has now spoken highly of his midfield partner’s mentality, adding that he will ‘try his best’ to impart his own experience on the Borussia Dortmund star.
“I would say I’ve always been pretty intense with my work ethic and how I approach my mind and body to football,” Henderson said. “It’s everything for me and I’ve dedicated my life for a long time to be in the best possible shape, physically and mentally.
“You feel more confident when you go out because you know how hard you have worked and what you’ve done. It’s a question of how hard the opposition have worked and you know it’s impossible that they’ve worked harder than you.
“I can see that [mentality] in Jude and it’s incredible to see for a 19-year-old. We’re cut from the same cloth in how we love football and dedicate our lives to the game. That helps me warm to him even more, I can see the maturity he has beyond his years.
“He’s been incredible for a large period of time now, but certainly in this tournament he’s been incredible. If I can just help a little bit with experience for him and other lads as well, I will try my best.”
