Game of the week: Paris Saint-Germain v Stade Rennais, Sunday 16:05 (UK)
Luke: The race for the podium is hotting up. Whilst we may not have a title race on our hands, there are plenty of teams in contention for the European places, and for the Champions League places in particular. Lens leapfrogged Monaco back into third last weekend, and the former should have little difficulty dispatching Angers. Les Monégasques face a tricky trip to Corsica, and whilst they will be favourites, Philippe Clement’s side are on a poor run, giving relegation-struggling Ajaccio a sniff of victory.
Rennes are certainly still in contention for the Champions League places, but face a difficult trip to face PSG. A result would certainly be a welcome surprise for Bruno Génesio, who is looking to close the gap on the top three. Elsewhere, Nice, France’s last man standing in European competition, should be able to fight to the onset of lethargy and beat Lorient, who are tailing away during the second half of the season, although the ineligible Terem Moffi will be a big miss. Finally, Igor Tudor’s Marseille are the latest side to try and end Will Still’s unbeaten run at Reims in a tie that has a draw written all over it.
