Leeds jump ahead of Newcastle in battle for Birmingham whiz Hall

Leeds United have jumped ahead of Newcastle for Birmingham City whiz George Hall.

Leeds are said to be ‘closing in’ on a deal for the teenager.

Hall has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom after making his debut for the second-city club last season and can now claim to be a first-team regular for John Eustace’s side. He has made 18 Championship appearances for Birmingham this campaign, even scoring in their 1-1 draw against Watford.

The England Under-19 international has been the subject of several links to top-flight sides, including Newcastle, within the last 12 months, says Chronicle Live. Though, it appears he is now Elland Road-bound with Jesse Marsch and co viewing Hall as a replacement for the outgoing Mateusz Klich.
