Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has rubbished claims that midfielder Thiago Alcantara might not play this season.
Alcantara has been struggling with a hip injury all through the season and according to Klopp, the 30-year-old is expected to return to rehab at the start of the next week.
Klopp is already without midfielder Naby Keita who has left for the African Cup of Nations and the absence of Alcantara leaves him short in midfield as he hopes to cope with the absence of his African stars.
Klopp on Thiago injury rumours: “No, neither March or end of the season is in my mind. It’s around the hip, that’s the situation and it needs time. Didn’t train this week but we expect him to be back for rehab from Monday. He’s not out until end of the season. Not at all.”

The Reds have two semi-finals Carabao Cup ties with Arsenal coming up in January, and Klopp will be hoping to have Alcantara as quickly as he can as his experience will be key for the club as they fight for titles.
Fans of the club have been worried about the injuries in midfield with captain Jordan Henderson missing their FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury over the weekend.
The return of Curtis Jones however provides them with another option in midfield but the team is still short of important players this month as they fight to keep leaders Manchester City at bay.
