Jurgen Klopp has revealed Liverpool will miss the services of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino when they take on Leeds United tomorrow in a Premier League tie.
Jota picked up an ankle injury during the Champions League last-16 first-leg victory over Inter Milan last week. On the other hand, Firmino is also out of the home tie against Leeds with a muscle injury.
The Liverpool duo sat out Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Norwich City and remain a doubt for the Carabao Cup Final against Chelsea this weekend.
“No, for tomorrow, no chance, and then [for] the final we will see. I don’t know at the moment,” Klopp responded when asked if the pair will be available against Chelsea.
“They are [pushing] but they were not on the pitch for training [yet] so that’s not a good sign. We have to see what we can do with the boys in the next few days and then we make a decision later in the week.”
The Reds are currently second on the log with 57 points, six behind Manchester City having played one more game.
A win for Jurgen Klopp’s men will see them reduce the gap between themselves and leaders to just three points.
