Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic had mixed emotions after scoring in their 1-1 draw at Champions League opponents Villarreal.
In the first-leg of their round 16 tie, Vlahovic opened the scoring at La Ceramica within 32 seconds of his debut in the tournament, but Dani Parejo equalised after an Adrien Rabiot error.
“My dream has come true at Juve, but I am not happy because we didn’t win and we all really wanted the victory today. It didn’t happen, so we move forward,” Vlahovic told Mediaset.
“I think we did what we had prepared in the locker room, but of course a lot depends on the opponents. We congratulate Villarreal on their performance, we tried to continue the way we started.
“I have personally already forgotten this match, we just have to look forward to the next game.”
Vlahovic, on his goal celebration, added: “I don’t know why people always try to create controversy. I don’t read the papers, I just try to improve every day and keep my feet on the ground.
“It wasn’t for any critics, it was just a gesture for a member of my family. That is all.”
