On loan from Arsenal, Lucas Torreira had a stellar campaign with Fiorentina. But La Viola may not sign the Uruguayan on a permanent deal.
As reported by journalist Mirko Di Natale, Juventus have not held any talks with the entourage of Torreira over the potential signing of the midfielder in the approaching summer transfer window.
According to various reports in Italy, Juventus are willing to refurbish their midfield department this summer, with the likely departures of Arthur Melo, Adrien Rabiot, and Aaron Ramsey potentially leading Massimiliano Allegri to lose the much-needed depth in the respective position.
Lucas Torreira has been considered a potential transfer target for Bianconeri. But the latest report suggests that they are yet to make contact with the player’s representatives in regard to a possible transfer.
Having failed to make the cut for Arsenal last season, the 26-year-old joined Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy, worth around €15million.
And despite doing extremely well in Florence in his debut season in Serie A, Torreira might not get a permanent contract from the Italian outfit. Several clubs, including some from the Premier League, have already shown interest in him.
If he fails to join a club in Italy, Torreira could be seen returning to England in the summer. With the Gunners, he has a contract until June 2023.
