Serie A giants Juventus have entered negotiations with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman will be a free agent at the end of the season and it is believed that Paris Saint Germain is the other team interested in his services. A return to Juve however seems highly likely with SportItalia journalist Rudy Galetti claiming that a pre-contract deal could be finalized soon.
The reports claim that Juve has offered an annual wage package of £7.5 million-plus a further £2.5m in bonuses with the negotiations said to be ‘moving swiftly’.
Pogba’s future at Old Trafford has been constant speculation with the 28-year-old valued at £49.5 million by Transfermarkt. Pogba has bagged one goal and nine assists from just 15 league games and could play a key role in the coming months as the United push for a top-four finish.
There have been reports that United’s director of football John Murtough has reportedly urged the Frenchman to delay his contract decision until the summer with the club keen on adding a new improved deal.
That has not prevented Juventus to talk with the player as they eye a reunion but the player’s £12.5 million earnings per year might be a problem for the Turin side who are doing everything at their disposal to cut costs.
