Nasser Al-Khelaifi has argued that Paris Saint-Germain are the best club for Kylian Mbappé (25) and called on the France captain to remain at the club amidst links with a departure.
Since the start of January, Mbappé has been allowed to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with another club, with his current deal with PSG expiring at the end of the season. Amidst reported optimism that Mbappé could extend with Les Parisiens, Foot Mercato reported that the Frenchman had reached an agreement to move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
However, PSG are seemingly unaware of any such agreement, whilst Mbappé’s entourage, speaking to RMC Sport, denied that any such agreement was in place, adding that he would not be rushed into making his decision.
PSG president Al-Khelaifi has now told RMC Sport that he believes that Mbappé should remain at PSG and extend his current deal, which is due to expire at the end of the current campaign.
“Of course I want Kylian to stay, for sure. He is the best player in the world and the best club for Kylian is Paris. He is at the centre of everything,” said Khelaifi.
As well as Real Madrid, Liverpool are also a serious candidate for Mbappé’s signature, according to Le Parisien, whilst Saudi Arabia, who saw a world-record bid to sign the Frenchman fall through in the summer, have been vocal in their interest in bringing him to the Gulf State.
