Inter have held a series of meetings with Sassuolo for the signings of Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi as well.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Giovanni Carnevali and Beppe Marotta have met each other multiple times over the last week to discuss moves for primarily Scamacca. One of the most recent meetings took place at a restaurant that is a stone’s throw away from the San Siro. Issues around the Serie A were also discussed but the main issue was Scamacca.
The striker rejected approaches from Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig in January because he wants to stay in Italy and wants to join Inter. Moratta is working hard to seal the deal soon, as he realises that Sassuolo sold Manuel Locatelli to Juventus late in the window last summer.
Inter know that the price tag of €40 million may not be enough and they have reaffirmed their desire to close a structured loan deal. The deal will have an obligation to buy in the medium-term future. Solid foundations have been laid during the recent meetings.
Frattesi’s situation is complicated because Roma have a sell-on clause and that will make finances tougher to deal with.
