Former Manchester City midfielder Didi Hamann insists manager Pep Guardiola is overrated.
Hamann has dismissed the achievements of the Catalan.
He told Goal: “I have always said that Guardiola has never done anything that other coaches have not done. Luis Enrique and Frank Rijkaard also won the Champions League in their first seasons at Barcelona.
“He managed the best team at Bayern and at Barcelona – out of the top 20 players in the world, 10-11 played in his teams.
“The football he plays is great, but other people have done it too. Is he the greatest for me? No, he won’t be for me. If he had won the Champions League with City, he still wouldn’t have been the greatest. If you look at what other managers have achieved at other clubs that didn’t have the opportunities he had at Barcelona, City and Munich, then I would rate other managers higher than him.”
