GGFN’s Bundesliga Team of the Week | Round 9

This week we witnessed the craziest week so far this season as six red cards were given out and a huge 42 goals were scored. Here is GGFN’s Team of the Week for round nine.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Goalkeeper: Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim)

Despite conceding two goals, Baumann ended up being the match winner for Hoffenheim as he saved Deniz Undav’s penalty and additionally made a total of eight saves to win the match for his team.

Right back: Benjamin Henrichs (RB Leipzig)

Assisted fellow full back David Raum with a dangerous ball across the box and continued to be an important outlet for Leipzig down the right-hand side all game.

Centre back: Miloš Veljković (Werder Bremen)

The Serbian was a rock in the back line for Werder Bremen and produced an impressive defensive display to earn an important clean sheet. Veljković even picked up an assist with a beautiful pinpoint long pass over the top for Marvin Ducksch to the chip the ball over the goalkeeper.

Centre back: Nico Elvedi (Borussia Monchengladbach)

Elvedi made a big defensive contribution in an important win as he made five clearances, three interceptions, three tackles and was impressive with his distribution, completing 97% of his passes.

Left back: David Raum (RB Leipzig)

A clean sheet and a goal will satisfy Raum, but he was a constant threat all game, providing 14 crosses and making four key passes.

Centre Midfield: Kevin Stöger (Bochum)

A goal and an assist for Stöger against his former club. Bochum conceded an equaliser late on but it could have been much worse for them had Stöger not played in this match.

Centre Midfield: Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig)

Another appearance in the team of the week for Simons and another two assists, taking his total up to seven assists in all competitions. The 20-year-old looks be getting better and better every game he plays for Leipzig.

Right Wing: Leroy Sané (Bayern Munich)

His impressive season continues as he was simply a nightmare for Darmstadt. Scored twice with a clever run and tap in and then a thunderous strike from the edge of the box. Also provided an assist for Kane’s hat-trick goal.

Centre Attacking Midfield: Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)

Musiala danced round the Darmstadt defence so many times like they weren’t even there and also scored two of the eight goals scored by Bayern with two neat finishes.

Left Wing: Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)

Opened the scoring after a mazy run down the right-hand side and into the box which he then finished off into the bottom left corner. He then set up the second goal after another impressive run to then lay the ball off to Hofmann to take aim.

Striker: Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

By far the standout player of the week as Kane scored another hat-trick, including a goal scored from inside his own half, which will be a goal that is talked about for many years to come. The perfect performance form Kane.
