Frosinone coach Eusebio di Francesco was left disappointed after their defeat to Monza.
Di Francesco accepts Monza deserved their win.
“We started off not well, less brilliant than them and a little intimidated in their choices,” he said. “The first goal came from a shot that became an assist. The second goal came from an error by (Matias) Soulé who must grow and understand how to receive the ball in certain areas of the pitch or where he can attempt to dribble and where not. At this moment we are paying dearly for mistakes, we scored our own goal after putting Monza in their own half.
“We reacted well despite the 0-3 deficit and it wasn’t easy. It’s sad because we are always here crying for our mistakes. We have grown a lot in possession but it hasn’t brought us results and we need to reflect on this. Even today, a bitter defeat for how it arrived and for having hurt ourselves.”
He also said: “The latest defeats weigh a bit. They are annoying above all because of how they arrived. I find it hard to say that we have lost lately because our opponent has dominated us. We need to raise the concept of attention during the game, we need to become more practical. The second round becomes another championship and we need to grow in level of attention.
“The team gave everything and showed it and I want the people of Frosinone to know it. They take to the field to always give their best, it must be the basis of the journey.”
