Everton fans held protest march before Leeds kickoff

Everton fans held a protest march before today’s Premier League clash against Leeds United.

Just as they’d done before the previous home game with Arsenal a fortnight ago, disgruntled Blues supporters took to the streets to air their grievances at the way the club is run, report the Liverpool Echo.

Starting outside the Royal Oak public house, the protesters made their way up Spellow Lane and along the length out Goodison Road in the shadow of the Main Stand.

A joint statement released by a number of Everton fan groups, detailing this latest protest, included the lines: “We demand that the board and owner refrain from attending any further games.

“Such attendance would prove to be an unwanted distraction for both the fans and the team. It is our belief that you are not fit to lead our club, and your presence would only have a further negative impact.”
