As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Eintracht Frankfurt have scheduled a medical test for Leeds United defender Robin Koch.
The long pursuit of the 26-year-old has finally paid off for Die Adler as they are set to sign Robin Koch on a one-year loan from Leeds. Bild had reported earlier today that the deal was getting closer to completion, and the finer details surrounding the contract were being confirmed.
However, with an agreement now in place the defender is set to be the latest addition to Dino Toppmöller’s side. Florian Plettenberg also reported that the Eagles have fought off interest from multiple European clubs such as Napoli, Newcastle United and Manchester United in order to get Koch’s signature.
Koch departed the Bundesliga in the summer of 2020 after joining Leeds for a reported €13m fee from Freiburg. However, after 77 appearances for the Yorkshire-based club, he returns to Germany’s top flight amid relegation from the Premier League.
The 26-year-old defender will be the eighth summer signing for Frankfurt as Ellyes Skhiri is due to sign imminently, with a medical also scheduled for today. With Die Adler’s summer signings adding depth and quality to their side, they are appearing to be a team to look out for ahead of next season under new head coach Dino Toppmöller.
