Local reporters are adamant Erling Haaland won’t be missed by Borussia Dortmund when he leaves for Manchester City.
Manchester City are paying around £60m for the Norway international, who will join this summer.
Ruhr Nachrichten’s football chief Sascha Klaverkamp told VG: “In one way, they will miss him, because he is a goal machine.
“On the other hand, he was often injured. He lost a large percentage of the matches to Dortmund. It made it difficult for the club, that their best striker could not play so often.
“Then they had to learn to play without him, something they often did with success.”
Jesco von Eichmann, of Sky Deutschland, also stated: “He will get standing ovations, but no one will stand in the stadium for two hours and cry that he is leaving.
“They want players with a heart for Borussia Dortmund, a club with a lot of emotions. Haaland scored the goals, but never said ‘I love being here’. Fans expected him to leave, so the love became cool.”
