As reported by Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund winger Donyell Malen is hoping to leave the club in the summer.
Despite originally struggling to adapt to life in the Bundesliga, since the start of last year, Malen has been in fine form for Die Schwarzgelben. With a tally of eight goals and five assists during the Rückrunde last season, Malen’s contribution nearly saw Dortmund pip Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.
However, this campaign, while BvB have struggled for league form, Malen’s return of seven goal contributions in all competitions has seen him remain one of Edin Terzić’s most important players. Nevertheless, with the side underperforming, the Dutchman is looking for a route away from the Westfalenstadion.
It is understood that Malen has become frustrated with having to consistently play on the right wing for Dortmund rather than in his preferred positions as a left-winger or striker. Therefore, with confirmed interest from sides in the Premier League, a departure could be on the horizon.
As well as this, it has been reported that if Malen were to request a transfer away from the club, then Dortmund would not stand in his way. BvB have set a €30 million price tag on Malen’s head, and if this is met, then they will allow him to leave the club.
