Former Real Madrid midfielder Takefusa Kubo admits he’s excited about his move to Real Sociedad.
The Japan international has moved to La Real for €7m, with Real Madrid holding a 50 per cent sell-on clause. Kubo has penned terms to 2027.
He said at his presentation today: “First, I think it’s the most appropriate team for my style as a footballer, and second because of the interest they put in me, I think they were the first.
“When I finished with the national team, they already told me that Real had been interested in me. Playing in a strong team and with very good players, I think you can’t ask for more.
“Looking from the outside, I have seen a very young team, with a lot of ambition and desire, and I am very happy to be one more here. Last year as a Japanese I saw two Japanese win the Europa League and, since we have the opportunity to try, why not?
“21 years old is no longer young, seeing that 16 or 17-year-old players come out, but I play soccer because I like it, and I don’t watch this about the pressure from the newspapers or the networks. I like watching soccer games more than newspapers.”
