De Gea due new round of Man Utd contract talks

Manchester United veteran David de Gea is tipped to hold contract talks with the Red Devils in the coming days.

United have let De Gea’s contract run out, opting not to take up the option in his deal to extend it by one year on his current wage.

The Red Devils are hopeful De Gea will take a huge wage cut to stay on as their no.2 keeper next season.

The Manchester Evening News states the two parties will talk, but Andre Onana is United’s preference for the no.1 spot.

De Gea has to decide if he wants to move on and play first team football elsewhere, or stay at United as a backup.

The Spaniard made several high profile errors late last season, costing United in the Europa League and FA Cup.
