Alfie Haaland says son Erling is touch and go for Manchester City’s game against Liverpool after the international break.
The 22-year-old pulled out of the Norway squad due to take on Spain and Georgia over the next few days after picking up a groin injury during the FA Cup win over Burnley.
City, who trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by five points, have little more margin for error during the run-in.
“You can’t just go two weeks without training and then jump right into a fight,” said Haaland’s father to TV2 Sport.
“There must be a progression there. It is about how he responds to treatment in the next few days.”
