Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson admits he’s delighted with the form of Jefferson Lerma.
The summer arrival from Bournemouth has impressed so far this season.
Ahead of their FA Cup Third Round replay against Everton tonight, Hodgson said: “I think that there’s more for us to get from him.
“I think he’s coming to terms every day with our style of play, the way our players try to play the game, and the players around him, the teammates he has to link up with. He’s coming to terms with that all the time.
“There’s no doubt he’s brought a couple of very important qualities to the team which we’re grateful to have. That’s the energy and the aggression, even in terms of wanting to get his head or his foot on the ball, or to win a challenge in the penalty area.
“These qualities are very, very important and a little bit different, if you like, to a lot of the qualities the other players have, so that tends to balance us out well. He’s a very nice guy. He’s immediately formed a bond with the other players.
“I would think he must be pretty happy with his first few months. He certainly doesn’t show any signs of discontent and we certainly have nothing other than praise and gratitude for what he’s brought to the team.”
