Antonio Conte has hit out at Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta over his complaints about Premier League rescheduling their match against Spurs.
Arsenal were in action on Wednesday night and face Aston Villa on Saturday and Arteta had plenty to say about their schedule at such a crucial time in the season.
“Thank you so much to the Premier League for doing that,” he said after their 2-0 defeat.
“And they’ve done it again when we have to play Chelsea and Manchester United. So if they want to give them any advantage, I say to them today: ‘Thank you so much for doing that.”
The Spaniard also explained his comments on Friday during his press conference, “I do because I’m talking about the Premier League. I heard some comments about mixing up being away in Europe and how it’s nothing new.”
“It’s nothing new to me, but I’m not complaining about Europe, I’m complaining about the Premier League and how you schedule games in the Premier League. When you are in Europe it’s a different story. What I’m comparing is the Premier League and it’s very difficult.”
Conte’s comments
“(Interrupts question) Yeah but I only want Arteta to remember the game postponed. Tottenham – Arsenal okay? If we speak about unfair. I stop,” he said when asked about the Arsenal man’s fixture concerns.
On being pressed further, he added: “But In general, I think my answer is enough. Okay, yeah, it’s enough. If someone wants to speak about fair or unfair. We postponed the game, Tottenham-Arsenal, if you remember. I don’t. I don’t forget this, and I think that it’s not right to speak about fair or unfair.”
Spurs are currently seventh on the log with 58 points, three behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
