Mbappe’s contract with PSG was slated to end this summer, and he’d been anticipated to depart for Real Madrid instead.
Last summer, the Spanish club offered PSG a massive transfer price in order to stop him from being convinced to remain or move to another team.
PSG declined and chose to do their utmost to convince him to stay, despite the fact that it appeared more difficult during the season, especially when Los Blancos knocked them out of the Champions League and he received a standing ovation from Real supporters.
The World Cup winner has only been at PSG since 2017 but he already boasts an impressive goal tally of 168 – just 23 goals behind Edinson Cavani in the all-time top scorers list for the French giants.
During his time in Paris, he’s won four Ligue 1 titles and three Coupe de France trophies, as well as being crowned the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year for the 2021/22 campaign.
