Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli says fans should be calm after the board’s resignation.
Cobolli Gigli believes the change by parent company Exor can be positive.
He told TMW: “John Elkann (Exor boss) took power away from (Andrea) Agnelli and gave it to those who trust him. (Gianluca) Ferrero is a person I know and respect, but in general I am relatively interested in what happens on the board.
“What could happen to the team (is what interests me). Juventus had started badly and were starting to pick up again, with games played in an acceptable manner before the break for the World Cup.
“We fans hoped for a better recovery, thanks also to the return of the injured players. This is the my real concern, namely that the turmoil will have a negative impact on the coach, who however has experience, and mainly on the players.
“I wouldn’t want them to get distracted by these facts and not concentrate on continuing on the path they had taken, which would lead them certainly at least to qualify for the Champions League. The players must be defended and I hope that Ferrero puts people who understand football with proven Juventus faith on the board. I won’t mention names, but I think I was clear enough.
“If I mentioned any name, I’d contribute to burning it. Not because it matters eh… But I won’t mention names.”
