Former PSG boss Christophe Galtier has released a statement following his departure from his position as head coach of Les Parisiens. Galtier officially left Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday after only one season in charge, following the mutual termination of his two-year deal. On Tuesday, PSG and the involved parties reached an agreement over the compensation packages the 2021 Ligue 1 champion with Lille and his assistant Thierry Oleksiak would receive. On Wednesday afternoon, Luis Enrique was unveiled as the new PSG manager.
On Thursday, Galtier said his farewell to PSG with a press release published on the club’s official website. The 56-year-old manager expressed his appreciations to all those who assisted him during his sole season in the Parc des Princes dugout. “I would like to say ‘Thank you’ after such an intense season“, Galtier said. The manager extended his thanks to the PSG players, “they were magnificent in their commitment in going after a historic 11th league title.“
Galtier also spared a thought for PSG Sporting director Luís Campos, his technical staff, the backroom staff and the medical department. The former PSG coach also thanked club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi “for his unflinching support, especially in the most difficult times.” Finally, Galtier wished well to his successor in the dugout. “I sincerely hope PSG experience another intense and emotional season, and best of luck to Luis Enrique.”
