Chelsea fans are planning a Mason Mount banner tribute for this weekend.
His failure to agree on a new contract with Chelsea has seen the 24-year-old come in for some heavy criticism from a section of fans on social media.
But now supporters’ group CFC_northstand have revealed their plans to honour Mount during Saturday’s clash with West Ham United with a banner across Stamford Bridge’s Matthew Harding stand that reads: ‘Mason Mount. The boy who had a dream’.
The Instagram account, which boasts over 500 followers, claim to be responsible for some of the most eye-catching crowd mosaics to have taken to Stamford Bridge in recent time, including a touching tribute to the late Gianluca Vialli who passed away earlier this year.
The post promoting the return of Mount’s banner this weekend was also supported with a message of support to the midfielder, reading: “Ignore the Twitter wallies who have never had the privilege to see you play – Stamford Bridge and the Matthew Harding stand will always back you!”
