Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has overtaken Robert Lewandowski at the top of this season’s Champions League scoring charts.
The Frenchman has been in red-hot form for the Spanish giants and is now a clear favourite for this season’s Champions League golden boot.
The 34-year-old continued with his scoring streak with a double in Tuesday night’s semi-final first leg against Man City as the Los Blancos lost 4-3.
This was the third successive match he scored more than once, having grabbed hat-tricks in his last two matches prior to the clash at Etihad.
He took his tally for the season to 14, one ahead of Lewandowski, whose Bayern Munich side were dumped out in the quarters by Villarreal.
