Former Liverpool chairman Sir Martin Broughton will NOT be part of any consortium that buys the club.
The Reds are on the market, with owners Fenway Sports Group looking for outside investment or an outright sale of the club.
Broughton, former chief of British Airways, was linked to an investment or a purchase, but that has been rebuffed.
CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs has now claimed there is no interest from Broughton in bidding for Liverpool.
FSG are seeking a fee north of $4 billion if they are to sell the club.
Their other option is to get a strategic partner who invests in the club with part-ownership.
