Brentford boss Frank wary facing Nottingham Forest; never feared second season syndrome

Brentford boss Thomas Frank says they’ll be wary facing Nottingham Forest.

The Bees host Forest on Saturday.

Frank said, “We want to get the next win and finish as high as possible; it’s very important. They will come with everything because they know they have to. We, hopefully, will also come with everything in front of our fans.

“I couldn’t see why we should have a second season syndrome at Brentford. I hugely respect the league and what can happen with injuries or being unlucky, but if we did what we do in training and constantly get better, then I was quite sure we’d be fine.”

On Forest, Frank also said: “It’s in a football player’s personality, and my personality, to just win the game in front of you. The away performance from the fans against Chelsea was remarkable, hopefully we can get that fantastic support throughout 90 minutes tomorrow.

“They had a spell where they didn’t win but were in a lot of games, and now they’ve got over the line against Brighton. They had a big turnaround in the summer and, for Steve Cooper and his staff to create a team from that and get them to sync is incredible.

“Brennan Johnson and Morgan Gibbs-White are the key players for us to shut down. They have a Champions League winner in goal and have two of the biggest talents in English football. We know the half and big transitions are the key battle we need to win on Saturday.”
