Bologna’s Marko Arnautović liked by Juventus, confirms agent

A target for Manchester United in the summer transfer window, Marko Arnautović was on the shortlist of several clubs across Europe.

The queue of his potential suitors also included Juventus, as confirmed by agent Marco Busiello, an intermediary who works with the striker’s brother.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Busiello claimed that Juventus made enquiry about the availability of Marko Arnautović last summer. However, Bologna were reluctant to sell the player, who ended up staying put at the Italian club. Busiello said:

“Juventus had asked for information, but I think it is normal when talking about a great striker at the peak of his psycho-physical maturity. But Bologna never wanted to talk about him, he has always been considered non-transferable. I think they will hold on to him. A Juve comeback seems complicated to me, also because Milik is off to a very good start and seems to be in the form.”

Besides Juve, Man United were reportedly keen on making a move for the Bologna striker.

But having faced criticism from fans for chasing a “controversial” figure like the 33-year-old, the Premier League ended their pursuit after being rejected twice by the Serie A club. Contrary to normalcy, Arnautović has made a fine start to the league campaign, racking up six goals from seven Serie A appearances this season.
