Real Madrid is set to hand striker Karim Benzema a starting berth despite the player just returning from a hamstring injury
The Frenchman has not played for the past three weeks but returned to full training yesterday and was able to complete the session with no issues with the player saying he was feeling “a lot better” in his Monday press briefing.
“I will always take risks for my team. Otherwise, I would have stayed in Madrid. If I have to force it, I will,” he said.
The striker nevertheless attenuated the statement by saying that he would also look to avoid injuring himself so as to not damage the team’s chances for the rest of the season.
Benzema might be angling for a start but manager Carlo Ancelotti said he would wait until the last minutes to make a decision and would only field the Frenchman from the start if he felt better.
PSG, on the other hand, produced the squad that will face Madrid with Neymar who just like Benzema is returning from injury making the list.
Paris Saint-Germain squad list: Navas, Hakimi, Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Verratti, Mbappe, Paredes, Icardi, Neymar, Di Maria, Danilo, Dagba, Wijnaldum, Kurzawa, Herrera, Diallo, Draxler, Kehrer, Mendes, Gueye, Messi, Simons, Donnarumma, Letellier.
