Real Betis president Angel Haro has confirmed that Hector Bellerin will return to Arsenal ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The full-back is currently on loan at the Spanish club, where he featured 32 times this season.
He burst into tears following his final home game against Granada at the Benito Villamarin stadium this past weekend.
Speaking on Wednesday, Haro however refused to rule out signing the Spaniard on a permanent deal next season.
“Hector is a fantastic player and a very good person. It was a loan that we had from Arsenal, now he returns to Arsenal and from then on, we’ll see.
“It is true that he has been very caught up in everything about Betis because, in addition, his parents are Betis fans. Hopefully, we cross paths again.’
Bellerin, in an interview in January, revealed he was enjoying time at his boyhood club, which his entire family support.
“All my family supported Betis, he said. “Everyone at home followed them, my dad and I were die-hard supporters. There’s an energy in the stadium that’s difficult to describe, it’s fantastic
“It’s wonderful to be able to share the amazing atmosphere with the fans. The supporters here have so much respect for the players, they love football and the club,”
He will leave the Spanish club having helped them win the Copa del Rey, reach the knockout stages of the Europa League, and finish well in the LaLiga standings.
