Former England star David Beckham has labeled Harry Kane the Three Lions’ ‘most important player’ ahead of the eagerly anticipated World Cup in Qatar later this year.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker will lead England at the first-ever winter World Cup as they hope to finally end their long wait for the title.
In an interview with FIFA, Beckham, who has witnessed Qatar’s preparations for the 22nd edition of international football’s showpiece event also singled out a number of favourites for the crown.
All about the performance, World Cup preparations and good to see the young lads get their debuts. Delighted with the win and a goal as well. An honour to join @SirBobby Charlton on 49 goals. Hungry for more. 🦁🦁🦁 pic.twitter.com/KTDPL5IqEr

“I would have to say, Harry Kane,” he responded to the question on England’s most important player. “He’s a leader, he’s our captain and he’s our goal scorer. With him performing at the highest level, he’s massively important to our team,”
“When you think about the World Cup you automatically talk about Brazil, Argentina and France. They are all great nations who have won many tournaments. Another country I am excited to see play is Denmark. I think they could be the surprise package,”
With 27 of the 32 teams having booked their seats at the tournament, attention now shifts to Friday’s draw.
