Bayern Munich’s Lucas Hernandez keen on joining PSG with talks underway

Bayern Munich defender and France international Lucas Hernandez (27) has put any talks of a contract renewal on hold amid growing interest from Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

The outlet reports that the 2018 World Cup winner with Les Bleus has been labelled a priority signing by the PSG hierarchy. Les Parisiens are in need of defensive reinforcements due to the uncertainty surrounding Sergio Ramos’ and Presnel Kimpembe’s futures in the French capital, whilst Hernandez can also fill in at left-back.

The 2020 Champions League winner with Bayern Munich has missed the better part of this season after sustaining an ACL tear during France’s World Cup opener against Australia on November 22nd. He has resumed full training with the Bavarians on Tuesday. Foot Mercato adds that the former Atlético Madrid man was expected to put pen to paper over a contract renewal with Bayern, keeping at the club until 2027. However, the appeal of playing for PSG looks to have convinced the Marseille-born player to put any renewal talks on standby.

The outlet reveals that talks have accelerated recently between the France international and PSG, with the player keen on joining the French capital. Hernandez is tied with Bayern until 2024.
